Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP)
As of September 16, 2009, NSP is closed. We are no longer accepting NSP Applications.
Please check this website for updates on future NSP funding.
NSP is designed to help stabilize neighborhoods and encourage the sale and rehabilitation of foreclosed and vacant homes in targeted areas of Waterbury. The targeted areas are North Main Street School area, Willow-Hillside area, and the Brooklyn-Duggan School area. Click on the NSP sidebar links to access the approved streets and target neighborhood maps.
We have helped qualified buyers identify foreclosed or vacant homes (still owned by the foreclosing entity), finance the purchase and rehabilitation, and assisted in the rehab process. WDC manages the scope of rehab work in order to bring your new property to code and make them energy efficient. We have partnered with Webster Bank for owner occupied purchase financing with NSP funds which are granted as deferred second mortgage loans that do not have to be repaid if the terms of the program are met.
NSP Brochure
