Homelessness Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP)

The City of Waterbury will be receiving $931,128 under HPRP, a federal stimulus program funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.  HPRP is designed to provide financial assistance and services to either prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless or help those who are experiencing homelessness to be quickly re-housed.  In order to receive these funds, the City of Waterbury has submitted a "Substantial Amendment" to the City's 2008-2009 Consolidated Plan of Housing and Community Development (Annual Action Plan).

The HPRP funds will be administered by the WDC through selected local non-profit agencies.  The Program is presently being developed and WDC anticipates the program will be running by approximately October 15, 2009.  Please check back on our website in October for further updates.
